Retention in Vocational Education in Denmark

A best practice study

Abstract
If Denmark is to meet the challenges of globalization, vocational education programmes must be attractive to and include growing numbers of youth with varied backgrounds and qualifications. Effective efforts to reduce drop-out rates and increase student retention are crucial to the success of VET programmes.
Educational reforms have led to new pedagogical roles and instruments; the ways in which these are implemented are important to students' experience of coherence, relevance, and structure in the course of their VET programmes.
This publication is a best-practice study of student retention in vocational youth education programmes across fields, entryways, and student groups, with specific examples from selected schools.
